Last week was jam packed for the Greene County Boys Golf team as they got to take part in three meets last week.
First up on the tee sheet was a meet against Webster City on Tuesday where the Ram boys shot a collective 187 but that wasn’t enough to defeat the Lynx as they shot a 159 on the day.
Scores were: Jack Hansen, 45, 6th; Nathan Behne, 46, 7th; Nathan Towers, 48, tied for 8th; Noah Hinote, 48, tied for 8th.
The second meet of the week took the Rams to Jester Park in Granger where they finished tied for fifth overall with Des Moines Christian in the field of eight schools, shooting a 346.
Results were: Jack Hansen, 81, tied for third-lowest score; Nathan Behne, 87, tied for 14th; Nathan Towers, 88, tied for 17th; Broc Stream, 90, 27th.
Lastly, the Rams took part in the Ram Invitational Golf Tournament that featured nine holes at The Hill in Grand Junction and nine holes at the Jefferson Community Golf Course. The Rams placed tied for second overall with a score of 342, which was the same score for the Coon Rapids-Bayard Crusaders. Jack Hansen registered the low score overall in the meet.
Scores were: Jack Hansen, 78, first place medalist by three strokes; Nathan Behne, 86, tied for 9th; Drew Wolterman, 88, tied for 13th; Nathan Towers, 90, 16th.
Head coach Kyle Kinne had this to say about the Ram Invitational Golf Tournament, “It was a fun day, just wished we won. Still trying to get better each day.”
